Who: Brainstorm, science nerds, anyone who wants to crash the party
Where: Brainstorm's workshop
When: ?!?!?1
What: Science nerds acting like 5 year olds and literal 5 year olds
Warnings: immense amount of immaturity?

It was always a damper on the enthusiasm to lose so much work, but Brainstorm was not easily discouraged. Sure, supplies were difficult to come by, especially for his particular vein of ideas, but he had settled in and set up a nice new workshop in their small 'village' of re-purposed buildings.

Really, it reminded him of home, and he would much rather be back on the Lost Light. He's never really been much of a Cybertron mech. Not really the homesick type at all.

Usually his chosen area of science was weaponry, either defensive or offensive or just for the hell of it, but there wasn't a huge market for that here. Or supplies. So instead, he had to work on priority items, like communication.

Brainstorm hadn't forgotten the beating he'd received when he showed up, so the invite to his workshop was extended to only a few significant individuals. And well, anyone they happened to tell.

At the moment, Brainstorm was putting a few finishing touches on the first few prototypes he's finished. The network arrays were already in place, though they didn't cover far in the city. They could work on expanding it later.

It didn't surprise Shockwave to find that other similarly minded individuals had set up shop in various parts of the city - scientists will be scientists, and he'd done the same. Sharing resources when necessary but each with their own area to really call their own. He'd been invited by Nautica, and in turn had extended what he presumed to be an open invitation to Valeria.

Which she'd accepted, and had accompanied him perched on his shoulder. After gently setting her down on the nearest table, he straightens up - waving to grab the attention of the one who's lab this was.

"Brainstorm, I presume? Nautica said you were looking into developing communication devices. And mentioned that you might be looking for anyone else who's able to help." That's what he's here for, at least.

If their egos choked out the sun they'd come up with a way to compensate for it that didn't involve a lesson in humility. Obviously. Shockwave frowns at the reference to whatever he'd come up with as knock offs, displeasure flitting over his face before he sets it aside.

"May I see? I'd hate to have a needless repetition in our designs beyond their purpose."

Also: his will have lesser chance of doubling as a weapon of some sort. Not that Shockwave knows that about Brainstorm - he doesn't recall anyone of his name or frame in the sciences before the war.
