What: Optimus finding out just what went down while he was gone from various people, or if they need to talk to him about anything.

The trip wasn't a complete loss, that's for sure. Optimus has somehow contacted the planet, and while it was rather vague, he found out quite a bit about their mission here. Way more than he would have just grasping at proverbial straws. The objective, however, wouldn't be easy. In its own way, Cybertron had told him that they had to work together, that they had to get along.

You can already see what's wrong with this equation, and to be honest, it left Optimus feeling a little doubtful on his return.

Speaking of his return. That's a thing that happened, and right now he's trying to gather his bearings for being gone for....oh...a week at most.

You can find him all over, scouting around for anyone who might be around to ask for information. But if you need him first--well...he stands out, at least.

The sound of jets overhead was nothing new to him, and an earpiece flicks slightly at the sound. He looks up, although not directly as one flies overhead. Colours instantly give him away as Starscream, although...that certainly wasn't the paintjob he'd left him with. Which meant two options: 1.) Not his Starscream and 2.) Different timeline. Only talking would tell.

But he keeps his guard up, in case he's dealing with one that may not be so...diplomatic as his own.

"Not really." Don't even get him started about how he's the scum of the earth to most Cybertronians. If you meant sarcasm, he certainly didn't get it, or is going to be too blunt to play along. "What do you want, Starscream."

His eyes narrow, as if trying to...decipher who this one is.

Starscream's expression shifts to a smirk at the answer. Getting right to the point, eh? He always did appreciate that quality. And at least he could generally expect this Autobot to be straight forward.

"That would be a rather long list," he gestured a hand at Optimus before folding his arms across his chest in a lose-like fashion. "But for now, I just want to know what in the pit is going on? This certainly isn't Cybertron as I remember it."

Similar to the Starscream he knew back home, certainly, but enough of a difference for him to point out that it's not his. Who'sever it was, he certainly felt...blessed. First another universe's Megatron, now the Starscream.

He's certainly popular lately.

"It isn't my Cybertron as I remember it either, but it certainly is one. One where....there was no winner of the war."

He continued to eye this Optimus, trying to figure out if there were any differences from what he knew. Design was slightly different, but general attitude seemed the same. Not that he was an expert or anything. That sort of thing was more up Megatron's alley.

"No winner as in 'everyone got bored and left' or as in 'killed themselves off'?" That was a big distinction in his opinion, though it didn't really matter to him in the long run.

Unless the former inhabitants left behind some sort of weapons cache or other technology which would be useful to him and his Grand Takeover Scheme™.

It's not like Optimus is a party animal, anyway. Most of them are constant no matter the universe. If that's of any benefit to Starscream.

"I'm not exactly sure. But something tells me it's the latter." There's no body count, but after seeing the destruction...and the fact that it's so barren...one can only assume the worst case scenario.

"I'm surprised you haven't gone to see Megatron yet."

Any of them. There's four to choose from, you know.

Oh good. That means there's probably left over technology around for him to swipe and claim as his own. But he's not going to comment on that one, not out loud.

"... It's not like I'm buddy-buddy with Megatron or anything. And if you're talking about that one with the weird teeth going on -- he's a little out there."

And you know if Starscream says there is something off about a person, it's probably really bad.

"That's...fairly evident, given past records of you." Then again, this Starscream wasn't his own--something was certainly different about him. "But I'd figured Megatron would be the...safe option."

He's thinking like you usually do, Starscream! About yourself.

"Safe?" He turns to look directly at Optimus. "Compared to what? You? And here I always thought you weren't the trigger happy type."

Really though, Megatron is far from being safe.

"Better to side with the devil than be in his path. That was always your way, wasn't it?"

He folds his arms, looking at the Seeker expectantly.

"Unless you're unaligned now."

"Playing by my own rules tends to be my philosophy actually. Though the devil is a bit more fun than the good guy team. So I guess you're sorta right."

He looks back at Optimus. Not really unaligned, but he's not terribly attached to the other Decepticons he's met here so far.

"I'm not entirely surprised. You're not all that different from the Starscream of my world."

He'll just leave out the part where Starscream had played the game and won. Won the entire planet. Optimus makes eye contact with the seeker a moment, before turning to the landscape.

"How long have you been here?"

"Not long," he says before looking off into the distance himself.

"Is this where we have one of those cliche talks about the meaning of our existence and what we are destined to do here and whatnot?"

"Well."

Yes.

"If 'requirements to go home' is what counts as cliche, then yes. We most certainly are." His eyes narrow at Starscream, eyes hardening.

"And I will tell you upfront that the only way to our own dimension is by cooperation." You know, that thing that you're not well known for.

"So what exactly is entailed in this concept of 'cooperation' ? Because sure, maybe I can be convinced to play nice for a bit. It wouldn't be the first time. But we aren't talking super Autobot goody goody things are we?"

Because that would be terrible. And he has a reputation man. So he just gives Optimus back a look like he asked the most serious question ever.

"This goes beyond our war, Starscream, and I'm expecting you to act like a good Cybertronian. No Autobot, no Decepticon."

Your reputation means nothing on a dead planet, bruh.

"That weirdly sounds like something ol' Shocky said a few years ago. I'm going to assume in your case, no brainwashing will be involved."

And him be a good Cybertronian? Ha! He can maybe be not completely terrible. That's good enough right?

The look that Optimus gives you, Starscream. If looks could kill, his would be a poisonous sword.

"We do not speak of that."
