What the hecky happened
Who: Optimus and YOU!
Where: Anywhere from Red Alert's Clinic to wandering around
When: Before Sentinel and Megatron/Rodimus log
What: Optimus finding out just what went down while he was gone from various people, or if they need to talk to him about anything.
Warnings: None
The trip wasn't a complete loss, that's for sure. Optimus has somehow contacted the planet, and while it was rather vague, he found out quite a bit about their mission here. Way more than he would have just grasping at proverbial straws. The objective, however, wouldn't be easy. In its own way, Cybertron had told him that they had to work together, that they had to get along.
You can already see what's wrong with this equation, and to be honest, it left Optimus feeling a little doubtful on his return.
Speaking of his return. That's a thing that happened, and right now he's trying to gather his bearings for being gone for....oh...a week at most.
You can find him all over, scouting around for anyone who might be around to ask for information. But if you need him first--well...he stands out, at least.

"Optimus Prime," Sixshot greets, flashing the Autobot leader a toothy canine smile as he sits up. He could almost feel the displeasure rolling off the mech. "Heard you adopted our leader. How's that going for you?"
no subject
"Pretty well, actually. Better than I'd have expected. Perhaps you should follow example."

There's no naivete in that voice--he knows damn well how a Phase Sixer works. In some ways, it was just proving who's the real team player here. He watches at Sixshot circles, eyes never leaving the Decepticon. Completely on guard.
"Mmnemosurgery is an option, although not one I prefer. Personal issues. I doubt you would understand."
no subject
"Besides, how else are you to reform me?" Dark, bitter humor shadows his words, the Phase Sixer's voice pitched low, bordering a growl. "And what am I to reform into, exactly?"
no subject
"I had hoped that with knowledge of the war ending, you would find yourself with no purpose."
Unless he's mistaken on the whole stabby stabby kill machine Phase Sixers take pride in identifying as. "And a new one to join Megatron on a quest of redemption."
no subject
"Who are you kidding, Prime? You've been perpetuating that system since before the war even started." He lowers his white head, baring his teeth. "Do you really trust your little mnemosurgeons to stay in line?"
The remark about his not having a purpose earns the Autobot leader a bitter smirk.
"Megatron's been pretty clear about how little of a damn he gives about us," the wolf mech rumbles. "He may have given the orders, but I did his dirty work. You really think there'll be much of anything left for 'redemption' once your Autobots are done with me?"
no subject
...
But the question lowers his head slightly. "No, I don't. But that doesn't mean I'll continue to support such a system in a post-war--OR non war era. THAT I can assure you."
It's not like he doesn't blame Sixshot. The Autobots, while striving for peace, had to take very shady moves during the war. A necessity, they said. But it didn't make it feel any better.
"Everyone has a chance for redemption, Sixshot."
no subject
"Why are you trying so hard for our redemption?" Sixshot raises his head, giving Optimus a quizzical look. "I killed a lot of your subordinates. You know the numbers."
no subject
"Because the only way this war ends is if we stop fighting. Stop the grudges. And stop killing."
no subject
"But what exactly are you going to do with me?"
no subject
"I'm not going to do anything. You answer to Megatron, so anything I say or do will probably be ignored anyway."
There's a glint in one of those eyes, as if it's a cocky remark.
"Isn't it."
no subject
"Well, good news," he says, finally, with a apathetic shrug. "He doesn't care much what I do. Honestly, it'd probably take me leveling half the city before he cares enough to finally shut me down. What an inspiration! I would be aspiring to join him like you say, but I'm just too damn busy these days."
There was going to be more sarcasm, but Sixshot bites back down on the bitterness before it swells up into something more poisonous. There was no point in airing his grievances to Optimus. He's not entirely sure why he'd even tracked the mech down in the first place.
Optimus was right anyways. Sixshot would never have taken orders from a Prime.

Because once this is out of the way, then they can get to the real center of the situation.
Although that line gets his attention. He's not sure if that was intentional or if Sixshot was just trying to rile him up. Either way, it worked.
"So if you're not killing, just what are you so busy with nowadays?"
no subject
The rest of the time was lying around being bored out of his metal skull.
"You really don't have to worry about what I want," Sixshot says as he rises, shaking the dust off, getting ready to leace. "Megatron has the shut down code. Megatron decides. I was just curious about what your plans were since you hold his reins now."
no subject
OKAY SO LET'S GO BACK TO YOUR PURPOSE AND MEGATRON BEING AN AUTOBOT THAT'S SOMETHING HE CAN MENTALLY HANDLE.
"I'm not holding any reins, Sixshot. I gave Megatron an ultimatum and he accepted it on his own terms. I'm keeping an eye on him, but his decisions are his own. My only plan is to get us all to cooperate, as that's what Cyberton itself wants from us."
There's a cautious, but stern glance at him. "If your apathy towards anything is anything to go by, perhaps we have a chance." There's no sarcasm there, surprisingly (or not, if you know Optimus). Lack of interest is much easier to pass as 'getting along' than 'killing everything in sight'.
no subject
There was a lot of things that was deeply wrong about that, but Sixshot doesn't care enough to point it out. It wasn't like he was in any position to be making moral judgments as is. Since when did he start caring anyways?
Oh, right, roundabout never ago. Hence the apathy even the Prime would notice.
"Well, nice chat, Optimus." Really though. "Unfortunately, I must take my leave. There's something shiny far away from here that's suddenly a lot more interesting than this conversation with you."
no subject
...
"Mm. Very well. I'd hate to take you away from something that so catches your interest."
Asshole.
