Starscream wasn't sure things could get worse as obviously the universe was out to get him somehow. Between lunatic clones, Megatron coming back from the dead and Jetfire blowing up, life back home is not something he'd exactly call great.

But then he ended up here and ran across a weird alternate version of himself, different Megatrons, an Autobot Megatron, Jetfire somehow being alive. And did he mention an Autobot Megatron?

In an attempt to form some normalcy back into his life, he decided to claim a building (hopefully away from mostly everyone else) as his own home base. So he had a place to get away and just ... think. So people will probably find him snooping around the city in various places.

Later on, after he finds a place to call his own, he is going to try and get everything up and running. This means swiping things from other buildings. Because who wants to have a secret lair that isn't cool and has everything. Besides, he can't just sit around and let the Autobots (or anyone else) find all the good stuff before him.

So it will be possible to find him entering and exiting building and possibly picking apart electronics to take what he wants.

Wow OK so this is weird.

Starscream is still trying to get a feel for this place because, hey, if he's going to help with the rebuilding efforts, he should probably know the area inside and out. He'd tried to be prepared for the eventuality of running into another alternate version of himself, but unlike with the last one, this one actually shared a resemblance. An unsettlingly close resemblance. So close it's like looking into a mirror that also somehow shows the past.

"Well now. There's a handsome face I never thought I'd see again," he says smoothly. Despite the joke, he is frowning slightly, rubbing his chin with one hand thoughtfully, standing across the room in all his hideously bright red glory.

Starscream stops short at the sight of his alternate. Oh, now this is interesting. The design is both familiar and not. He can see the resemblance, but it's really the voice that brings it all together. The body and colors are all wrong though and he isn't sure if he likes it, but at least it was far better than that other one he ran into.

This one actually looks like he could punch someone and survive.

"Ahhh. You must be me or the other way around, depending on how you want to look at it. Nice frame."

He eyes the other Starscream up and down, wondering which universe this one belonged to.

"Ha. Thanks. And yeah, there certainly are a lot of us running around here, huh?" He saunters over to a busted up wall and kicks back against it lazily, folding his arms over his chest. "Well... Three of us, but that's still two more than I ever thought I'd run into. Gotta say, I'm really not sure what to make of the whole situation, but at least you're less twitchy than the other one."

He eyes the other Starscream up more closely through narrowed optics. "What are you up to out here, anyway?"

Starscream eyes his alternate. If there is anyone he knows to keep his guard up around, it's himself. Still, he shrugs coolly at the whole thing.

"Ahhh, yes. Looks kind of like an annoying bird? Met him already. He's easy to get riled up. As for what I'm doing ... I'm just checking everything out -- seeing if there's anything interesting around here."

And not telling this other Starscream exactly what he's doing. He knows better than that. But hey, at least there are no hostilities so far.

Unsurprising. He wouldn't be giving a straight answer to himself either, if their positions were switched, and he hadn't been expecting one anyway.

"That's the one. Noticed that, too. Makes things easier on us though, since he doesn't seem to be much of a threat." It's a deliberately odd statement, speaking as though they're already on the same team but leaving that thought hanging as if Starscream intends on leaving it up to the other guy as to whether he considers him a threat yet or not.

He tilts his head. "I can respect that though. I'm doing the same thing, more or less, just in... broader terms. What's your deal, anyway...? Somehow I get the sense that you aren't specifically me from the past. Is one of the multitudes of Megatrons running around here yours?"

That'll be a good place to start, sorting out what differences are between them. Surely every damn Starscream has to have a Megatron.

Starscream's lip curls up a bit at the first part. He'll neither confirm or deny it. He really doesn't consider either of them a threat. An obstacle? Sure. But a threat? No. Megatron is a threat. The Autobots can be threats. But at least with 'Starscream' he already knows a thing or two.

"I don't think so. That's too drastic of a body change for me. And I hope not, but so far that I've seen, no." He pauses thoughtfully before continuing, "Though the one ... the Autobot one seems familiar. Minus the whole weird Autobot thing. What's up with that? He fall into a magic well of goodguyness or something?"

"Hah. Yeah, you met that one, huh?" He gives him a wry, humorless grin. "That would be my gigantic grey fusion-cannon toting headache. It's a bit complicated, but basically he's sporting that badge as part of a desperate ploy to buy himself enough time to do something worthwhile and successful with his life. Y'know. Before the Autobots decide to have him put out of his misery, because he's a genocidal monster and everything he's ever tried to create has just blown up in his face and made millions of people miserable and suffer pointlessly."

His optic ridge quirks at all that. My, someone has misgivings about their former leader. Really though, he can't blame him. If there is anyone Starscream would love to see die, it is Megatron.

"Well, the whole genocidal monster thing is part of the Decepticon decree, is it not? Granted my own Megatron tends to be on the psychotic end of that spectrum. But I can't really complain, evil plots can be fun."

He shifts in his stance to a more relaxed position.

"Still, you'd think he'd want to be put out of his misery before jumping in with the happy good guy brigade."

Really dude, you're going to refer to your actions as evil plots out-loud-? Starscream's kind of amused by the bald-facedness of that statement before he remembers that he himself has referred to his own plans as 'nefarious plots' before. Jokingly! But still.

He laughs again, quite a bit louder, before his expression settles back into a kind of uncomfortable smile. "Yeah well, I may have sort of uh... Provoked, him, on that front. Not the smartest move I've made, and you'd think I'd have learned not to underestimate the guy by this point, but, here we are... with an Autobot Megatron running around, basically staying alive just to spite me."

"Provoking Megatron is an easy task in my experience, though it's interesting that he plays on the good side just to get back at you."

In a way it reminded him of Jetfire, only the annoying jet switched sides because of ethics and morals and other pointless ideas.

"You must have really gotten him good. Perhaps you can share that tale with me sometime."
