Life Sucks But Not Always
Who: Chromedome and you
Where: Some high point
When: ???
What: Who knows
Warnings: Mopey Robots and maybe some plotting
Life has gotten so much better upon realizing that your dead partner is no longer dead. Life gets a little more complicated when alternate timelines come into play, but Chromedome is willing to accept that. There were issues though. Of course there are issues, it wouldn't be Chromedome's life if it didn't have issues. He just wants to forget it all and move on. Was that really so wrong?
Despite Rewind being around, Chromedome couldn't shake off this feeling of nervous gloom. He figured it had something to do with Prowl who was, heh, prowling around out there somewhere. It made him feel hunted. He had to reassure himself several times that Prowl didn't want anything to do with him. The feeling was entirely mutual.
That didn't stop Chromedome from jumping a little bit at shadows.
Now don't get him wrong, he wasn't afraid of Prowl. Nah, he just didn't want to deal with him in any way. And he was justified in this! Dealing with Prowl lead to little things like emotional complications and the death of people he loves.
Which is sort of why he was up here. There was no way Prowl was going to want to repeat their last encounter. Some people might say that there was no way he could live his life like this, but Chromedome would argue that he absolutely could.
The other reason he was up here was that it was a good thinking spot. There was some plotting to be done, and thankfully it had nothing to do with Prowl. In fact it wasn't anything serious at all. That was the beauty of it. Maybe he'll ping Brainstorm later, to set it all in motion.

"Chromedome," he greets.

There's a pause, and Chromedome isn't entirely sure where he's supposed to go from here. It's not like they've talked much since Tailgate's near-death experience, and that's not exactly something anyone can casually chat about. It only occurs to him at that very moment that he both has a lot to talk with Cyclonus about, and nothing at all. Complicated, as always.
"How does it all look from up there?"
This is a safe conversation, let's go with that.

"Better than much of our Cybertron," he answers. Which isn't saying much. "Though Primus only knows the condition of the rest of the world. This city... pulls."
He's not sure if any of the land-bound people have noticed that. It's harder to travel outside of the city without jets.
no subject
"Pulls? In what way? I haven't noticed anything." Probably because Chromedome had no reason at all to leave the city. What little he still had in this universe was here. "Don't suppose you have any theories about this city? Brainstorm has a few, but they're very... Brainstorm."
no subject
But then the darkness fades, because he does have his theories about this city and their presence here, and he has difficulty being upset with their apparent 'captor'.
"It's a point of rebirth," he answers simply.
no subject
Which is Chromedome-speak for "please elaborate". The idea that they can't leave is a frightening one. It raises a whole bunch of questions that none of them can answer.

"When you wander the city with no particular destination in mind, do you not find yourself heading in the same direction every time? There is a presence in this city-" Of which he is certain is the will of this Cybertron. "-that exerts a pull. The further I travel from the source source of this pull, the stronger the imperative becomes, until I can no longer resist it."
He pauses thoughtfully, looking Chromedome up and down. "I had thought the phenomenon affected us all, but perhaps it is selective."
