If you asked Cole, he wouldn't understand what was going on. In someone else he would have felt it, the first thought, the sudden rush that followed, the crushing hole at the center of it all. It's panic, terror before it fades into the ache, but he's never felt quite like this on his own before. Chest tight, ears ringing, where am I where am I where am I running through his head like a Chant. It's easier to think somewhere high, back to a wall, head between his knees, trying to piece through his own thoughts and channeling his anxiety into annoyance with him own inability to sift through them as easily as he'd like.( ooc; SO UH hi. so just. assume cole pops outta nowhere, wherever, and just says heyyy )
He has to assume it was the Fade. Some lingering touch of the Rift, something wrong with time again? And this was... not the Fade. Not Thedas. Nothing he's seen before, really. There are things here, things that feel like people but aren't. Fleeting glimpses of things too big, almost like golems, and a city that seems built to house giants. Qunari, maybe? He'd always thought the Iron Bull was tall, but maybe there were even bigger ones somewhere else? He's not sure. Are they all that there is? Would they mind if he asked? He has no idea who to blame and no one to go to for answers, and with his mind veering toward the worst (it's a mage, someone tried to send him away or banish him, something went wrong, where's the Inquisition?) he realizes, dimly, that he can't just stay where he is.
Eventually curiosity and nerves drag him away from his hiding place and back into the city proper, wandering like a ghost through an unfamiliar landscape. He wanders, and he listens, and when he locates something--someone--sentient, he creeps closer until he's near enough to be heard.
"Hello."

Spinning around, he frantically searches the area for a moment before realizing that he needs to look down.
Oh. Another human. That's not too worrisome.
"Don't you know it's rude to sneak up on people?" he squeaks.

She's been picking through buildings, popping her head in and out of doors trying to choose one that she can actually stay in. It isn't until she's actually walked into a building that someone pops up right behind her and immediately makes her regret it.
The second he says hello, Cammi tenses up and turns around, doing a little hop-skip backward to get away and get a better look.
"Wow. You don't look like a serial killer at all."
