Roll Back the Rock to the Dawn of Time [open]
Who: Grimlock and YOU
Where: That big hole in the ground (The Crater)
When: The earth was smoking and the lava flowed (Now)
What: There's a goddamn dinosaur outside
Warnings: Snap your fingers and stomp your feet (also spoilers)
Grimlock must have had a heck of a fight because for one thing he came to groggy. That and he found himself in something that didn't look like Earth at all. At least, not the parts he's seen. He was in a hole, a pretty big hole. The dinobot pushed himself off the ground, rubbing his head. "Oh man...if what happened that I think happened...then Denny's gonna be maaaaad." Because mad is the maximum emotion for your home getting blown sky high.
So off Grimlock goes to explore what became of what he thinks is Earth...at least till he finally gets the sense to look up to the horizon. That doesn't look like Earth buildings, not unless the Decepticons had a busy night. No, that definitely was..."Cybertron? I'm on Cybertron?"
...oh he gets it now. Grimlock broke into an uproarious chuckle, "I get it! Jazz or Drift must have picked me up as a joke...or something." He didn't really think this over. "Uh hey guys? I'd like to go back to Earth now...guys?"
Obviously they were busy doing something. He'd just have to find them. Maybe Bumblebee and Strongarm were around too, having a big laugh about it. There goes that big green dinosaur Cybertronian calling out as loud as his footsteps. He has no indoor voice whatsoever.

Seriously, how does being in a building change anything? "No Strongarms allowed, right?"
no subject
He just never lived in one, he's a bum Sideswipe. He chuckles, “Yeah, no Strongarms! ...not that she'd end up here, right?”
no subject
Yeah, that sort of makes two of them. In the bum category. Though in Sideswipe's case it was probably because he was too cool to pay rent or something.
"I dunno. I mean, it's not like we meant to end up here."
no subject
“Oh sure, I'll always be fine.”
He gently swats at Sideswipe with his tail.
“But with you or any of the team? I'll be more than that.”
no subject
He sputters and trips, despite Grimlock being careful. Which results in him slapping at the offending tail.
"Yeah, it's just me here, big guy. We're on our own."
no subject
Grimlock feels the impact of Sideswipe's hand on the tail, which brings him to playfully swat back with said tail.
“On our own...in this big empty city...”
no subject
"Yeah, pretty much. That doesn't bother you too much, right?"
no subject
“Nope...juuuust as long as we don't go out into any cramped dark places...”
no subject
There's another pat on Grimlock's side. A reassuring one, this time.
"Don't worry about it, big guy."
no subject
Since he got that nice pat, Grimlock just takes a minute to lift his head and smile at Sideswipe.
“Yeah...I'll try. But it's pretty easy when I got you around.”
no subject
If he could, he'd have blushed a little. It wasn't something he heard often around the others. Usually it was just yelling.
"Well, hey, I do what I can. I am pretty fantastic like that."
no subject
He had no idea what went through Sideswipe's head now, but the mech was eager to get things started together.
“So uh...you're gonna have to show me around, I don't remember this Cybertron.”
no subject
He's all but jogging to keep up with Grimlock. But oh well. He can handle it.
"Yeah, me either. I got some places scoped out, but... I've never been here either."
no subject
Hope you liked that one second of not being a shit. Also exercise, it's good for you.
“Hope they ain't a crater like this busted place.”
no subject
Exercise is good, yes. So he doesn't complain about that, at least.
"No, it's worse."
no subject
“...how worse we talkin'?”
no subject
He sobers up. Metaphorically speaking. His voice drops.
"Like the stuff you see from the war."
no subject
When Sideswipe gets serious you know it's bad.
“This really what it was like?”
no subject
He shrugs.
"Bee'd know..."
no subject
The big guy looks a little pensive.
“He knows a lot of stuff. Wonderin' if he knows we're here.”
no subject
Bumblebee is dead.
He hesitates again, biting his lip. That guy -- he couldn't have been right. That was just crazy. Bee had been fine!
Right.
"I dunno, Grim."
no subject
Grimlock's usual jocular shine dims a little, tilting his head.
“...what do ya mean? He still on Earth or somethin'?
no subject
And he had. He really had. But apparently he was wrong. He kicks at the ground a little.
"But someone here said they knew him. And..."
no subject
That'd make sense, considering the number of enemies they made. But no, Sideswipe's hiding something else.
no subject
He's stopped walking altogether, just sort of looking down at his feet. He can't meet Grimlock's face.
"... they said he was dead, Grim."
