the punch has been spiked, the music is whatever they could scrape together, and there’s bleachers to make out behind. takes place OUTSIDE in the forum so there's plenty of space and people can easily crash it.

prom king is optimus prime, prom queen is pipes.

please behave as irresponsibly as you would at real prom.

Even though he knows full well how Shockwave can be, and how easily he slips into a 'casual' gesture like an arm around his, it still seemed to take him by surprise. Like every time it happened. His eyes widen, looking down at their arms linked together and noticing that familiar white and blue paint. Trailing it back up to that familiar, smiling face.

Familiar, yet not so familiar.

"Uh."

When he sees the gesture, his gaze turns to the dance floor, then back to Shockwave, eyes slowly widening in slight panic. "I...can't dance." As if he had to put that disclaimer up immediately to not make Shockwave assume any less.

That just gets a laugh from him, rich and deep. "I had assumed as much, Optimus. Which is why I will lead and you will follow." It's not so difficult to pick up. He gives a sharp but sure tug at Optimus' arm, a smile and a tilt of his helm towards where other bots were already making their best attempts at dancing.

He grins again. "And, from the look of things, I doubt you'll be the only one."

You're not getting away from him this time.

Had Optimus wanted to stay put, he wouldn't have budged. But as it turns out, despite his protests, he wanted to spend more time with Shockwave. Catch up on the time he'd lost. His head dips accordingly, humbly following him as elegantly as he can (which is pretty funny to watch, compared to Shockwave's natural elegance).

His ears flick gently, turning to face the Senator as they make their way onto the dance floor, casting a soft glance to the others.

"If it's acceptable to you, then alright."

Because he doesn't really care about everyone else--it's Shockwave he doesn't want to disappoint.
