there must be some kind of way out of here
Who: Roller (IDW) & OPEN
Where: The City
When: NOW
What: After finding a few terminals still standing, the big guy decides it'd be a great idea to go find more. Maybe even fix them up a bit. So he sneaks away from everyone on a mission.
Warnings: None yet
He didn't say anything before he ducked out. He just did it. When he was sure Pax-Prime-whoever he was now wasn't paying a lot of attention, he'd excused himself out into the city. Honestly, he needed some space. Some time to wrap his head around everything going on.
It wasn't every day you got "hi you're missing and there was a war and by the way I'm Prime now" dropped into your lap.
Besides, he'd found some old terminals on previous wanderings. With any luck, he could probably see if they could get rewired to broadcast -- send out a distress signal. Just in case someone out there was listening and wanted to pick up a bunch of confused Cybertronians. It couldn't hurt to try. And at the very least, maybe he'd find some supplies, if nothing else.
Prime...
What was he even supposed to think about that?
He can be found wandering empty buildings, now. Wedging his way into vacant rooms, or pounding away at useless keyboards in hope of a reaction. He's hard to miss, if anyone should run across him -- being huge has that little drawback.

His feet stick out though.
Those big huge feet of his.
Right out into the street.
no subject
"Augh!"
Very graceful, no?
no subject
His head jerks up when he feels someone smash into one of his feet. And, given his head is wedged into a crawlspace, it's a painful reaction. CLANG goes his head, and OW goes the big bot.
He starts scooting out to check on the disturbance.
"Watch it out here!"
no subject
While Bee does feel bad - because that sounded like it hurt - he doesn't feel bad enough to take all the blame. He takes the time to try to get away and stand before there's an even bigger mess of tangled limbs. That is a thing that could very well happen.
no subject
And with that, he's scooting out of the crawl space to get a look at whoever this is. Because wow. He knows he's huge. He knows his feet are huge.
How did you even miss those.
"Given the size and everything. You're not hurt though, right?"
no subject
"Sorry, really. I wasn't really looking where I was going in the first place."
Other things on his mind and all that.
no subject
Haha, get it. See? Looking? He's hilarious. He's also pushing himself into a sitting position to look Bee over.
"You didn't answer my question, though."
no subject
"Yeah, I'm fine. My pride took more of a tumble than I actually did."
no subject
He's still sitting down, and holds out a huge hand in greeting. The bot's not familiar, but he's not bristling with weapons or holding a gun to his head, either. Which... just brings to mind the last time he'd seen Pa--Prime? Paximus? What the hell did he call him now?
His old partner. Because clearly, reminiscing was a good idea right now. Might as well be friendly.
"Roller. You?"
no subject
Roller sitting down means he's likely right at Bee's height. It's all right. He's used to it. Honestly this is all some mistake or accident or what have you. Otherwise this guy seems all right. Bumblebee is going to take the offered hand and give it a shake as best as he is able.
"Bumblebee."
Quite ironic, considering Bee had worked for Sentinel, hmm?
no subject
He pulls his feet back, leaning his elbows on them as he sits. If he had eyebrows to raise, he probably would have quirked them by now. For the most part, he's tried to keep himself out of politics, short of digging up dirt on Shockwave. The irony, for now, is a little lost on him.
"I should probably also ask if you know anything about communication systems," he adds, after a moment. "Trying to fix these here and get a distress signal off. See if we can get a ride home."
no subject
That and they had been through a lot of stuff together. Of course Bee also considers Prowl and Wheeljack really good friends of his. Cliffjumper too. Two of those people right there he's known forever. The others he had met during wartime.
As he speaks, he fidgets. Trying to fix things... That's not really what he's known to do. Bee shrugs, offering an apologetic smile. "Afraid I can't help you there. I was a saboteur, not a tech. Now I have to wonder if an S.O.S. will even bring anyone here or not. They could end up stuck here just like us."
no subject
Ratchet had been one of his partner's friends, and, by extension, one of Roller's. If this Bumblebee was one of the medic's, then. It stood to reason he was an alright guy.
The response about the previous line of work gets a frown -- though at the parts scattered around, and not at Bee. "Ever tried... reverse sabotage? Maybe?"
Hey, worth a shot, right?
no subject
"Who doesn't at this point?" It's a fair question, right? "But yeah... After Kaon and Sentinel fell, Zeta brought Pax in. That's when I met him. Worked with him then and after he became Optimus."
Maybe Bee can't fix anything here, but he can still grin at the suggestion. Reverse sabotage. That's not really how it works, but they both know that, don't they? Still, it doesn't mean that he won't sit down and try to salvage something.
"Maybe two heads will be better than one?"
no subject
A pause. "Was my partner..."
Those big shoulders roll in a shrug. He turns back to what he'd been doing. It's a safer subject than anything else.
"Can't hurt."
no subject
"Still is, you know. And believe me... If it's one thing Optimus needs right now, it's a partner. Someone he can turn to," Bee says with a casual shrug. "We're all kind of in limbo with being done with the war and all."
They can all use people to lean on, really. Optimus had been in a rather bad place more than once. Lost and confused. Perhaps they all need a reminder of what life had been like before - something to bring them back from those dark places.
no subject
"Yeah, well. I'm here. So it's his call."
It's an uncharacteristic retort. He grimaces, and shakes his head.
"You want to help or what?"
no subject
War does change people, it's true. Orion had went through his ups and downs. Bee had witnessed those first hand. All in all, Optimus is kind of a staple. He hasn't changed all that much, not at the very core of his spark.
"Where is a communications specialist when you need one, right?"
no subject
Because both is about as accurate as can be. Not that he doesn't care for his partner -- he'd have to be stupid or something not to. But he also knows how true those words are.
... all the more reason to keep an eye on him, right, Roller?
He grimaces. "Probably dead, given our collective luck lately."
no subject
Not that he feels offended in the least, but he can't pass up an opportunity to spin the conversation around. It might be at his expense, but he can live with that.
What he can't seem to live with is being unable to really help out much. Like with this. Bumblebee doesn't know what wires go where so it's going to be a guessing game. Test and change up.
no subject
He's really not sure how to respond to that. At all. Orion said he was missing, but someone dead is another story entirely. How do you answer someone who said "by the way I'm dead".
"I'm... sorry?"
no subject
Yeah, it's all good. Mostly. Bee isn't all that worried about what happened. For the most part, he just wishes he hadn't been so distracted. Optimus claims he's a hero. Well Bee sure as hell doesn't feel like one.
"You'd think I'd know how to put one of these together with as many as I've taken apart over he ages."
no subject
He rubs a hand down his face, still looking uncomfortable and awkward. Seriously, what's he supposed to do with that? Apologize? How does that even help anything at all?
His head is aching. Maybe he should get it looked at.
"Yeah, you'd think. Kind of the point of asking you."
