another char arrival log. my god

Who: peridot and.... you??!?!?!!
Where: PLACES
When: grunts
What: earth isn't what peridot expected and she's pissed off
Warnings: MUCH EXASPERATION

a. crater/city/city outskirts

Her gem wasn't damaged by the crash. That was, much to Peridot's relief, instantly apparent.

She forms a pad out of her fingers not long after she stopped panicking (only took a good ten minutes), running some scans and tapping out some basic observations. Her pod was nowhere to be seen; troubling, but not much she could do about it.

"Just what I needed..." she mutters to herself, two fingers floating up to pinch the bridge of her nose.

"Earth is noticeably," Peridot looks around, kneels down and pokes at the ground before speaking directly into the pad. "Dilapidated. I've lost the Kindergarten location, however it remains my top priority."

Closing the pad and sighing heavily again, she clomps away from where she woke up, unknowingly following the behest of a call towards the city.

b. medibay

It's time to make proper contact with the locals.

Eugh.

Peridot chose what appeared to be a production/research facility for her loathsome task - at the very least, it appeared to be one of the more active buildings. She can talk to one, ask for parts in exchange for some kind of service. Homeworld was partial to those who can offer something in return, surely this place would work the same way?

That said... they are awfully big when you get close, battlesuits or not. Peridot can't help but find herself sticking close to the shadows, subconsciously hiding from beings over thirty times her size.

Let's hope there's no misunderstandings about why she's sliding around equipment and file locations. Especially seeing as it's the middle of the night.

Maybe you shouldn't poke around people's clinics in the middle of the night if you don't want a misunderstanding, Peridot.

It's far later than June usually works, but she's feeling restless and a touch of third shift insomnia, so she's taking inventory so she can report to Val and Shockwave what she needs. Turns out the power armor courtesy of Val is pretty handy not only for protecting herself, but for reaching high shelves. The building isn't exactly to human scale.

A skittering noise, a fleeting shadow at the edge of June's vision as she enters the room catch her attention. That might just have been a trick of the light -- or someone might actually be creeping around in here. June's eyes narrow behind the visor; at least now she's actually equipped to deal with a potential intruder. She swivels toward the sound, feet clanking much more loudly than her usual sneakers on the floor.

"Who's there?"

Ah, she was at least right about the where. Not so much the who or the...what, though she couldn't have imagined she'd find a...hm. What is she? She doesn't really look...human.

"That's one way to start a conversation," June mutters to herself, but she's relieved to hear that this...whatever isn't looking for a fight. She'd rather keep things friendly. The suit is just a failsafe. "Glad to hear it, but if you don't want people thinking you're up to something, I recommend not sneaking around in the dark."

It's more a mild chiding than a bitter reprimand, though, and June seems to shrug it off. She's not coming out of the power armor yet, though, not until she's sure Peridot doesn't pose a threat to her. "My name's June. I run this clinic -- this one's for the humans and the other organics. The big one next door, that's for the Cybertronians. I take it you're new here?"
