another char arrival log. my god
Who: peridot and.... you??!?!?!!
Where: PLACES
When: grunts
What: earth isn't what peridot expected and she's pissed off
Warnings: MUCH EXASPERATION
a. crater/city/city outskirts
Her gem wasn't damaged by the crash. That was, much to Peridot's relief, instantly apparent.
She forms a pad out of her fingers not long after she stopped panicking (only took a good ten minutes), running some scans and tapping out some basic observations. Her pod was nowhere to be seen; troubling, but not much she could do about it.
"Just what I needed..." she mutters to herself, two fingers floating up to pinch the bridge of her nose.
"Earth is noticeably," Peridot looks around, kneels down and pokes at the ground before speaking directly into the pad. "Dilapidated. I've lost the Kindergarten location, however it remains my top priority."
Closing the pad and sighing heavily again, she clomps away from where she woke up, unknowingly following the behest of a call towards the city.
b. medibay
It's time to make proper contact with the locals.
Eugh.
Peridot chose what appeared to be a production/research facility for her loathsome task - at the very least, it appeared to be one of the more active buildings. She can talk to one, ask for parts in exchange for some kind of service. Homeworld was partial to those who can offer something in return, surely this place would work the same way?
That said... they are awfully big when you get close, battlesuits or not. Peridot can't help but find herself sticking close to the shadows, subconsciously hiding from beings over thirty times her size.
Let's hope there's no misunderstandings about why she's sliding around equipment and file locations. Especially seeing as it's the middle of the night.

Hi Peridot, did you order a dose of wrecker that no one else wants? Of course you didn't, but you drew the short straw, so now you get to deal with him. Granted, he's just as confused as you are, although he's been here long enough to avoid the general populace. He's got things to do on his own time, man.
"Lemme clear somethin' up for ya. This? Ain't Earth."
Re: A.
"And why should I believe--" ah, now she turns around and sees a robot fifteen times her size. "AUGH"
Smooth.
no subject
"I'm flattered."
But he looks up at the sky, making sure he's got his coordinates right before looking back down, head tilting ever so slightly. "Let's just say, I'm pretty experienced in where -this- is. And I can tell ya, it's a little ways off from the Earth system."
...
"By light-years."
no subject
"Are there... Stevens here?"
Yeah, that'll do it.
no subject
"There might be. Who's askin?"
no subject
"You don't seem the type to want to get caught up in interspecies affairs," Oh, Peridot, if only you knew. "I'd prefer a simple yes or no answer."
no subject
"Pretty presumptuous for just meetin' me. But I like to avoid humans if I can.
...Take it you're not one of those, though. Just guessin'."
no subject
"Absolutely not." Peridot barely even knows what a human is. "What are you, some sort of mechanical guardian? Or annoyance bot."
no subject
Don't mind if he emphasizes that a bit for you.
"Welcome to Cybertron, though. Not the one I'm familiar with, but close enough."
no subject
"It really says something when inanimate objects find you tiresome."
Idioms are lost on her. As is the situation, as everything just raises more questions! Mostly: where's her pod?!
"Of course." Yeah, she's not showing or admitting any of that confusion. Peridot just thinks this is part of Earth and her equipment was damaged in the crash. "You'll have to excuse me, I have a message to send."
She can jury-rig a communicator, probably. Or maybe find one and hi-jack the frequency!
no subject
Ah, so she was like Ultra Magnus without the warmth or people skills. Gotcha.
"To who? And with what? Doubt you'll get any signal out here, mean green machine."

It's far later than June usually works, but she's feeling restless and a touch of third shift insomnia, so she's taking inventory so she can report to Val and Shockwave what she needs. Turns out the power armor courtesy of Val is pretty handy not only for protecting herself, but for reaching high shelves. The building isn't exactly to human scale.
A skittering noise, a fleeting shadow at the edge of June's vision as she enters the room catch her attention. That might just have been a trick of the light -- or someone might actually be creeping around in here. June's eyes narrow behind the visor; at least now she's actually equipped to deal with a potential intruder. She swivels toward the sound, feet clanking much more loudly than her usual sneakers on the floor.
"Who's there?"
power mom power mom
Peridot was expecting to get attention, one way or another. Honestly, she would've preferred to have gone to the edge of the counter and fired a flare or whatever but close enough. The natives she managed to walk into earlier proved well enough that they weren't immediately hostile.
"I'm not here to be antagonistic, before you get over defensive," she states, sliding herself out from between two jars and holding up her hands. Not the Impressive Entrance she wanted but whatever. "I just wanted to talk to someone who isn't completely obnoxious."
Though... she's not sure that's possible, at this rate.
Re: power mom power mom
"That's one way to start a conversation," June mutters to herself, but she's relieved to hear that this...whatever isn't looking for a fight. She'd rather keep things friendly. The suit is just a failsafe. "Glad to hear it, but if you don't want people thinking you're up to something, I recommend not sneaking around in the dark."
It's more a mild chiding than a bitter reprimand, though, and June seems to shrug it off. She's not coming out of the power armor yet, though, not until she's sure Peridot doesn't pose a threat to her. "My name's June. I run this clinic -- this one's for the humans and the other organics. The big one next door, that's for the Cybertronians. I take it you're new here?"
no subject
Whatever would June be doing, anyway? Peridot hesitates before continuing. As much as these primitives don't deserve to know her name, or anything about Glorious Always Party Homeworld, even Peridot knows she can't keep everything secret right now. Names aren't too bad.
"Peridot. Charmed, I'm sure."
A
However, he noticed she possessed technology. It might be just what he needed. As far as he assessed? She could have her uses.
The space dragon sprinted a good distance before skidding right next to her. "This is not your Erff."
Re: A
Regardless, she takes a step back. Why is everyone here so big? It's like a planet of Jaspers. Awful.
no subject
He pointed to her fingers, "You are a technician or a machine, correct?"
One of those has to be right.
no subject
"A machine?! Those big eyes and you can't even-- rrgh!" She was entirely willing to ignore this guy but now she's offended. Viscerally!
"Listen! I'm just trying to get my bearings!"
no subject
"That's what I'm trying to do." he gestured towards the city, "I require a technician. With enough scrap metal we can create a craft for our escape. Or something that makes a signal..." He's not too tech savvy.
no subject
"And what makes you think I need your help? None of that is hard at all."
AND YET
no subject
"You don't look combat ready. This environment is hostile. We can be of service to each other."
Do you see what he's getting at.
no subject
"Fine." she states simply. "Do what I say, get what I need, and we won't have any problems."
no subject
"No problems unless I see one," he agreed.
no subject
Plus, he's big enough to hide behind. No, she doesn't miss Jasper. Peridot forms her pad and brings up a list of items she had handy, should she need to perform repairs. Well, time to see how well this'll go - she's not much one for immediately trusting someone she's just run into.
"Let's start with something small and easy. A piston. Think you can do that?"
If her plan worked, this thing'll run off and she'll never see it again. Diamond be praised, presumably.
