Who: Jetfire & You
Where: The Skies || Crater
When: Jetfire's arrival
What: Jetfire being a science nerd
Warnings: Shouldn't be any???
Crater
Now Jetfire doesn't quite believe in the supernatural. There must always be a reasonable explanation - through science first and foremost. This is why, even though he is clearly there and standing and not in five million pieces, he doesn't automatically assume some kind of miracle has transpired. He doesn't believe that there is an afterlife so that can't be where he is either. Igniting his thrusters, Jetfire hoists himself up to at least get out of the crater and to get a better viewpoint.
What the scientist sees should be surprising. However, it isn't. Jetfire can make an educated guess that this is Cybertron. The metallic terrain is all but telling. What he doesn't understand is why there are some signs of organic life. Jetfire wants to get some readings of this planet, this Cybertron. What could have changed the planet so to make organic life sustainable? His nature could get the best of him, if he allows his mind to continue. Instead he needs to focus on finding answers. Is this really Cybertron? If so, then how did he get here?
This isn't the first time he has essentially woken to a crisis after spending a lot of time in stasis. Granted, Jetfire isn't sure that this is the case, but that is the logical assumption. Someone must have been able to salvage something of him after the explosion. Fixed him up. There can't be any other explanation.
In Flight
What's the best way to get a good lay of the land? By taking to the skies, of course. Not only is this testing to see just how well Jetfire's systems are working. From up here, he can see the terrain and maybe find others. That isn't his primary goal. Jetfire is a scientist and explorer and socialization isn't his one of his skill sets. Still, there is something to be said about being in his alt mode and cruising along. If only he had a lab or something. The need to tinker with his sensors so he could pick up appropriate data is strong.
This is going to have to do. Traditional observation might suffice until he can work on some upgrades or something.

aw yeah flying
"Haven't seen you around before," Slipstream calls over the space between her and the white-and-red... uh... plane thing? (She can't quite tell if he's supposed to be a jet or a spaceship, though she supposes it also doesn't matter much.
Hopefully, he'll feel the same way about the Decepticon markings on her wings as she does about what his altmode is supposed to be.)
"You new, or have you just been grounded?" she continues, tone more curious than anything else.
augh i need a paid and icons
"That would likely because I just recently 'arrived,' if you can call it that," he responds.
The paint job isn't one he recognizes. Nothing unusual there, though.
haha man i don't even have enough icons for a full free account
She assumes literally everyone knows who Megatron is, because who doesn't know who Megatron is?
cries for us both
Instead of thinking about that too much, he goes for a lazy roll. He isn't the fancy flier that Starscream is. This flight is still meant to test things out all the same.
"So, tell me... What sort of Cybertron are we flying over here?"
it is okay friend we will carry on somehow
"Anyway, I've been told it's all war-torn and dead and empty. I don't have any memories of Cybertron to compare it to, so I've gotta take other bots at their word, but that doesn't seem too wrong, and I sure haven't met any bots that're from here, even if they're from a Cybertron."
very slowly
"Wonderful..."
Then something else strikes Jetfire as odd. No memories of Cybertron? How is that even possible? "Did something happen to your memory?"
/pats gently
Also, yeah, Nurse Megatron is the most hilariously terrifying thing in the universe, but Slipstream's been in too good of a mood to dwell on the bad parts of that idea. It could be worse, after all. It could be any other Decepticon ever! At least Megatron's got a good processor in his noggin.

He says it more out loud than actually asking. Musing! It's not really impossible, but it isn't exactly an easy task to accomplish.
"I had thought that the people would rebuild. Perhaps that is too hopeful of me."
no subject
It's not a secret, really, not when her loudmouth brothers have gone skittering all over the universe and gotten captured by Autobots and generally been useless. She's perfectly willing to let this big fellow in on how Starscream did it!
"And they are, I guess. Just not whatever people were here before." In jet mode, she can't actually shrug, but she manages to infuse shrugginess into her voice.

And inwardly embarrassing himself a little on how fast he jumped on this. When he gets near the creator and the figure there, he instantly transforms, though he stays hovering up high.
"Jetfire?!"
That certainly looked like Jetfire. But he got taken out in that explosion. Maybe this is another Jetfire and Starscream will just kill him.
Or maybe manipulate him.
Or maybe manipulate him and then kill him.
Best friend forever.

"I'm not at all surprised to see you here as well, Starscream."
Disaster kind of goes with the other jet, after all. Disaster and destruction, anyway. There is kind of a lot of that surrounding them. It makes Jetfire wonder if his old friend had something to do with the state of this planet. While Starscream may want to rule over the universe, Jetfire also knows how ruthless and spiteful the other can be.
no subject
Starscream drifted in closer to Jetfire, but still kept a reasonable distance. He still wasn't sure if this was his Jetfire or not. Could be.
"Do you have any idea how you got here?"
no subject
It's a respectable distance, honestly. A bit suspicious, but it's Starscream. He doesn't always do the most reasonable things, now does he?
"I figured that you would know that answer, Starscream. Isn't it you that kept me in that ice prison for who knows how long? I assumed it was much the same..."
no subject
He shrugs his shoulders in a relaxed fashion before folding his arms across his chest. Maybe he should actually land to continue this conversation, but nah. Not yet.
"I have no idea how we are here, and haven't been able to get much information from the other displaced 'locals.'"
no subject
Being on the same level might make it easier to talk, yes. Usually it's Jetfire that towers so he supposes he can give Starscream this. For now.
"What do you know?"
no subject
He can't comment on the organics because he hadn't met any yet and who cares about them anyway.
no subject
Then there is wondering if Starscream really does have nothing to do with this. Face it, this could be one of those terrible plans of his old friend's that backfire. Maybe.
Jetfire isn't too sure.
"Proof?"
Well. He has to ask, right?

FLIGHT
But as it comes closer into view, Optimus can't help but narrow his optics in curiosity. This one was...certainly larger than Starscream, and vaguely familiar. He doesn't bother to wave him down, but he certainly gets to higher ground to be noticed, eyes firmly locked onto the jet.
If he was correct...this would certainly be a welcome face. He just hoped he was.]
no subject
Jetfire turns around, heading back to the other Autobot. he transforms midair and slowly makes his descent down to the Prime's level. ]
Optimus Prime.
no subject
But Optimus is glad that he's noticed, as he sees the jet swoop around, tracking it with his eyes as it transforms.
And lo and behold...--
Jetfire?]
That I am. And you are...Jetfire, correct?
[He hasn't mistaken you for someone else? You're a TAD different.]
no subject
Yes, I am. Though I suppose the real question is 'which Jetfire' and 'which Prime,' isn't it?
no subject
I suppose that would be the question. I can see you're not the one of my world.
But who's I'm also not sure of.
[And the same goes for him, certainly.]
no subject
[ and there are different parts placed in different places... but that's really about it. ]
How many Starscreams have you encountered?
no subject
Things to consider at a later date.]
Two.
[Maybe three.]
Do you potentially know any of them?
no subject
[ he knows one of them really well in fact! ]
He is an obnoxious brat, honestly.
