[The distress call opens with a squeal of static as Mayday screeches too shrilly for his comm to deal with.

He tones it down a notch.]

Somebody help! I'm trapped! Please, they're... They're everywhere. Why are there so many of them?!

[His bottom lip is actually trembling in a pout]

But- but-

[Go see a doctor, or live with a face-shield that has been permanently rendered permeable to the air around him?]

I, um. Don't think I can walk.

[He grips onto Pipes's hand as tight as he can, which isn't especially tight. There was a time he would have flinched away from that much contact, but he's actually mellowed out a little about touching. Especially when he knows the toucher has just bathed.]

Well, you don't look that heavy... I think I can--

[he hooks one arm under mayday's back kibble and the other under his legs, hefting him up.]

Gotcha! Light as a feather!

[Mayday gives a shy squeak as Pipes picks him up, the world spinning for a moment as his misaligned gyros react to the moment.

Then he gives Pipes a wobbly little smile of thanks and tucks up his long gangly legs so they don't drag on the ground or anything.

The small drops away with a yelp as he notices another nitrodeer staring at them from a few meters away.

Mayday stares.

The deer stares.

Mayday relaxes a touch.]

...they're actually kind of cute. Y'know. For something potentially riddled with diseases.

See! I didn't detect anything on them when I was holding that one earlier. I think you can find one that's clean enough. Or likes water.

I still don't see why they have to gather under my house.

[He crosses his arms and pouts.]

Maybe they could sense that you actually super secretly like them.

Wh-wha-what?! I do not! I hate them! I think they're terrible! Awful! Kind of cute...

[Pouting intensifies!]

I never said you hated them.

[he laughs, nudging mayday gently.]

Cute, disease ridden beasties, right?

I said I hate them! And I do! A lot! Completely!

[...okay, maybe he doesn't hate them. But that doesn't mean he has to admit it!

He huffs maturely, though he grins a little at the nudge.]

Let's just- let's just... Go. To that place.

[Shudder!]

We should be there soon. Do you know Ratchet or First Aid? They're from the same universe I am and they're here. Super nice, fantastic medics. There's another one but I haven't really spoken to her...

[TSUN FOR TINY DEER]

Oh, um, no. Not really, no. I haven't exactly been... talking much. With people. Anyone. Except by accident.

I mean, not that I don't want to talk to people! It's just. Mostly I bumped into people sometimes and then I sort of talk to them but I'm not really good at talking to them and-

So. Medics! Haha. Right.

[He rambles when he's nervous, too.]

It's okay, I think you'll like them. Ratchet's a bit grump but First Aid is really nice!

[a pause. he just remembered first aid's missing an arm.]

But! If you're really nervous you can keep your optics closed and I'll lead you to the right place. You'll be back outside before you know it!

K-keep my optics off?

[That could be a brilliant idea! Or it could be a terrible idea as he is left to imagine all the horrors around him. He's not sure which.

Still, he gives Pipes a weak smile and shuts off his optics.]

Th-thanks.

There you go.

[he nudges him again.]

[So many indignant noises!

But also smiling.

You done good, Pipes.]

[Optics firmly off! And he throws an arm over his face shield for good measure.

It wouldn't actually help much. It's a very skinny arm.

He may be trembling. Just a little bit. So brave.]

[WHAT A GODDAMN NERD!!

pipes steps carefully into the medibay, making sure not to hit mayday off anything. WHO WILL BE INSIDE~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~?]

[ Behind Door #1 is First Aid. He's still lacking an arm but that isn't keeping him from working. His diagnostic drone -- now up and running -- buzzes about gathering things from high shelves for him. It zips over Pipes' and Mayday's heads without even an acknowledgement for them, mainly because it was currently clutching a large wrench in its tiny graspers.

First Aid at least hears the door open, and he turns, tense for a moment until he sees who is coming in. ]

Pipes! Who's your friend?

[Oh no, they're actually in the medibay now! Definitely trembling. His knees may have started knocking together a little with a persistent tap-tap-tap-

Oh hey, somebody talking!]

Squeak!

[...no Mayday, that is not your name.]

[pipes looks at mayday, then back to first aid.]

He's called Mayday. I did something dumb and now his visor is cracked and I think some organs are misaligned.

[a beat.]

He, uh. Isn't a fan of medibays.

[which is why pipes is currently holding him bridal style. yep.]

[ First Aid's visor squints while he gives Mayday a once over, then motions Pipes to come closer, clearing off a berth and laying down a fresh cloth. ]

Not many are, it's understandable. Not to worry, Mayday. We'll get you sorted out and on your way again in a jiffy.

[Oh gosh, oh gosh- Mayday resists the urge to cling to Pipes.

He is an independent Autobot who can survive a medibay!]

I-i-it's, um, it's mostly my. Uh. M-my gyroscopes? N-n-nothing serious! MaybeIshouldjustleave.

[Mayday, no. Courage! Courage, Mayday!]

[pipes gently puts mayday on the berth then takes his hand like the totally no homo brobot he is]

Don't worry about it. First Aid is really good!

[you know like when he saved pipes from melting from the inside out ahh good times]

[ First Aid thinks nothing of the hand holding because he's totes a no homo brobot too okay.

He hums as he looks over Mayday, laying a gentle hand against his plating and prodding to feel his internals beneath. ]

Feels like you just need a few adjustments and then everything should slide back into place.
