Pipes was probably not as bothered about the pollen as he should be. He's not in denial about it like he is with several other things - that would involve invalidating the other people involved - but at the same time he's not entirely sure how to deal with it all. Miria had run away when he'd tried to apologise for acting so strangely but... not much he can do about that.

He stands at the bottom of Mayday's elevator, looking up and wondering if he's even doing the right thing. Pipes didn't realise feelings were so hard. He really hopes none of this happens again.

Taking the can tied to string hanging down, Pipes stares at it for a moment then gives it a tug. He's not entirely sure how this works.

Mayday opens his mouth and a squeak comes out. Cycling his vocalizer a couple of times, he manages, "Oh, I know about that. When you get people from, like, um, the same universe but a different time or whatever."

This isn't his first time being ripped out of one universe and slammed down into another with a ragtag bunch of people from different worlds. What is his life.

He settles down a bit more.

"Yeah! Like that. Just something of that, you know? Uh. If you do know. It's... really specific."

Pipes decides there is no point lying to Mayday, but he still struggles to get it out.

"Aaannnnyyyway. Decepticons, space battle, everything going to pot yadda yadda yadda-- it's all good! Really!"

[scaredybot]

The majority of the worry on Mayday's face has now been replaced by confusion.

"Wait, what's all good? I don't understand."

"Okay, honestly, absolutely nothing."

Another pause. He has no idea how to word this when he can hardly accept it himself.

"Iii... may have had a bit of an... encounter with a Decepticon at home. Which I didn't know about."

[scaredybot]

The more times you say it's okay the less he believes you, Pipes.

"Oh. Because it didn't happen to you yet?" Some of the people back in the other universe he'd been in had that happen, with someone knowing about their future. "Wait, what happened? Will happen. Would have happened...?"

He can't help it at this point, honestly.

Pipes is quiet for a few moments, then sighs.

"He... killed me."

[scaredybot]

Well that sends a chill down his back to churn in his tanks with the fresh energon.

He's silent for a long moment, then...

"So it's not incurable tank worms."

Because that's kind of still a relief.

Pipes can't help but snort a little. Oh, Mayday...

"No, it's not incurable tank worms. Ew."

[scaredybot]

"That's good," Mayday says, reaching out to cup Pipes's face with both hands. "Because then you'd be dead, and not... not like. You if you weren't here. Because you're here, so you're not there then, so you're not dead. Right?"

Perfectly clear.

"Right. As long as I'm here that's... a paradox, I guess?"

Or still his future. Time travel?? Pipes puts his hands over Mayday's.

"I'd take being here with you in a ruined city over being dead on a spaceship any day."

[scaredybot]

"I'd sure hope you'd pick me over being dead!"

Leaning in he bomps his faceshield against Pipes's faceplate.

"You'll be good. You're here instead. And even if... Even if you... Go back... You'll still know what to avoid, right?"

"Any day, Mayday. Any day."

He leans into that for a moment. God, kissing without a mouth is so hard.

"I don't know. I don't think I can, judging by what I was told. I think I bumped into him before I woke up here, anyway."

[scaredybot]

No way. Affectionate face-butts are totally easy and not at all awkward looking. Mayday enjoys them anyway. Mouth kissing always looked kind of messy.

"Oh. Uh. Well." Don't think too much about Pipes being murdered, you will panic Mayday. "You're here with me now! And you don't have tank worms. Things are, um, things are good!"
