[ INTRO LOG ]

You don't know how you got here. One minute you were walking, sleeping, maybe dead -- then you're here, your feet suddenly carrying you down an empty street. Where's here?

Any Cybertronian would recognize this as their home planet, Cybertron, but it's not a Cybertron they've ever known. It has all the familiar hallmarks, but none of the specifics -- the city isn't one anyone here could identify, and even at a glance it's obvious that no one's set foot on the planet's surface in hundreds of years. The city and its surrounding areas all bear the marks of devastating war, of dust and rust collected over centuries. With no one in sight -- right at first, anyway -- there's plenty to explore. In fact, if you start walking, you'll find that your feet may just carry you in one particular direction.

A) The crater.
On one edge of the city is a massive crater left by some wartime weapon that seems to have taken out a large chunk of the surrounding metropolitan area. At the center of the crater it's broken through the surface of the terrain to reveal what looks like it might be a promising energon deposit. There is some strange but native vegetation growing around the edges, too, that no Cybertronian would be able to identify -- small, metallic, brittle-looking sprouts that bear a curiously organic-looking fruit of some kind that doesn't look like it's intended for consumption by any natives of the planet. In one rocky nook of the crater, light catches on the surface of a pool of water, which seems strangely out of place on Cybertron. On closer inspection, it seems that somehow an underground water source has formed a spring in the crater.

B) The center of the city.
If you follow where your feet seem to want to carry you, you'll find yourself in the middle of the ruined city. It seems that the center of the city was once home to a massive forum, and some of the pillars and structures still stand. At the very center of the forum is a massive, elaborately constructed fountain, although it has now long since run dry of whatever used to fill it. One of the low, inner walls of the forum has a terminal embedded in its surface, although it looks curiously ancient, out of place with the rest of the city, and unlike the rest of the technology still left around, there doesn't seem to be any way to power it on or operate it. There are a few scattered pools of water and a few of the strange metallic plants in the city, too, but they're not quite as plentiful as in the crater.

The planet was obviously once home to a massive network of communication relays, but those have all been long since destroyed. However, with the bits and pieces left behind and a few determined minds, it wouldn't be too hard to build a working, if rudimentary, one...

"Tell me about it," June sighs, even though she doesn't really get all this crap about the Senate. She'll ask Shockwave later. He seems pretty well-informed. "Look, don't ask me how it works. You're the third Megatron I've met today."

"I'm afraid not much of what you're saying makes any sense."

Don't mind him, June, he's just curious that this little organic creature could comprehend what he's saying at all. There's a tentative reach forward with a finger to like, actually see what her scrubs felt like. What a strange sensation.

"What are you?"

Aw, Megatron, don't sweat it. This doesn't make a whole lot more sense to June, either. She blinks in mild surprise when he prods her -- in nothing more than genuine curiosity, too. It's not a very threatening gesture, and June feels confident enough in that that she even pats his finger with her hand.

"I'm a human. What, you've never seen a human before? I guess that means you haven't been to Earth yet."

"Never heard of either. Organics don't tend to visit our planet much."

He looks down at her hands, intrigued by the physical sensation of clothing and something warm and tiny on his fingertip. It was unlike anything from his cold, metallic, and unyielding home world. Particularly when he's been underground most his life.

Given the decrepit state of their society, he honestly isn't surprised that they don't get any tourists.

June's eyebrows raise slowly as she watches Megatron study her in intense curiosity, and though she feels she's being scrutinized, it doesn't feel threatening. She has to fight not to smile. Dammit, Megatron.

"Well, it's not as though Earth technology's reached that point, anyway," June admits, shrugging, and she pats his finger again for good measure before she withdraws her hand. "But you Cybertronians always seem to end up on our planet in every universe, from what I understand -- which, I'll give you, isn't much, so don't quote me on that."

He retracts his own as well, having gotten his fill of what human touch felt like. Interesting.

It's almost like he didn't find it totally gross, what a monster.

"That must have be a coincidence." he stands up,"What would we need from an organic planet?"

Considering her initial frightened reaction, he assumed whoever visited didn't arrive to trade presents.

"It most certainly was not a coincidence," June says, her mouth pinched. Now that she knows that this Megatron means her no harm -- so far anyway -- she has a much easier time taking that Mom Tone. "The Autobots and the Decepticons have made my planet their latest battleground. It had something to do with resources, I guess -- I don't know all the details -- but trust me, it hasn't exactly been good for us."

Ordinarily he'd take issue with an authoritative tone, but given June wasn't a threat, she totally got away with Momming it up.

"Energon isn't a common resource," which meant their situation was quite unfortunate,"Unless it was something else."

"It's terrible that your world was wrapped up in our... issues. No one really deserves that."

"No, I'm pretty sure it was energon. Go figure," June says. She looks at Megatron, thoughtful and considering. He's...genuine, way more than June was expecting. "It's nice of you to say, though. ...You really don't seem much like the other Megatrons I know. In that you're not a power hungry despot, I mean."
