[ INTRO LOG ]
You don't know how you got here. One minute you were walking, sleeping, maybe dead -- then you're here, your feet suddenly carrying you down an empty street. Where's here?
Any Cybertronian would recognize this as their home planet, Cybertron, but it's not a Cybertron they've ever known. It has all the familiar hallmarks, but none of the specifics -- the city isn't one anyone here could identify, and even at a glance it's obvious that no one's set foot on the planet's surface in hundreds of years. The city and its surrounding areas all bear the marks of devastating war, of dust and rust collected over centuries. With no one in sight -- right at first, anyway -- there's plenty to explore. In fact, if you start walking, you'll find that your feet may just carry you in one particular direction.
A) The crater.
On one edge of the city is a massive crater left by some wartime weapon that seems to have taken out a large chunk of the surrounding metropolitan area. At the center of the crater it's broken through the surface of the terrain to reveal what looks like it might be a promising energon deposit. There is some strange but native vegetation growing around the edges, too, that no Cybertronian would be able to identify -- small, metallic, brittle-looking sprouts that bear a curiously organic-looking fruit of some kind that doesn't look like it's intended for consumption by any natives of the planet. In one rocky nook of the crater, light catches on the surface of a pool of water, which seems strangely out of place on Cybertron. On closer inspection, it seems that somehow an underground water source has formed a spring in the crater.
B) The center of the city.
If you follow where your feet seem to want to carry you, you'll find yourself in the middle of the ruined city. It seems that the center of the city was once home to a massive forum, and some of the pillars and structures still stand. At the very center of the forum is a massive, elaborately constructed fountain, although it has now long since run dry of whatever used to fill it. One of the low, inner walls of the forum has a terminal embedded in its surface, although it looks curiously ancient, out of place with the rest of the city, and unlike the rest of the technology still left around, there doesn't seem to be any way to power it on or operate it. There are a few scattered pools of water and a few of the strange metallic plants in the city, too, but they're not quite as plentiful as in the crater.
The planet was obviously once home to a massive network of communication relays, but those have all been long since destroyed. However, with the bits and pieces left behind and a few determined minds, it wouldn't be too hard to build a working, if rudimentary, one...

And then there's no denial. There's no going back on the offer. He perks up even more, and transforms, flitting alongside the much larger bot.
He won't ask questions. He'll do as comes naturally to him -- being a shadow.

Sixshot finds trails left behind by other mechs, their scents lingering on the ground. Most were unfamiliar. Others were. They all seemed to be headed in the same direction; towards the city.
That alone makes the Phase Sixer linger in the crater, at least until there was nothing left to investigate. There was only so much he staring could do with the strange organic matter and the water.
"There's people," he announces to Kagerou over his shoulder; not that he doesn't trust the other to not have noticed, but simply to start talking again.
no subject
He nearly backwings, though, when his new companion informs him of the discovery. Alarm doesn't really show on his bird form's face, but the frantic hovering probably says it clearly enough.
"What... what do you mean, people?"
no subject
Yes, hello, Sixshot has not really clued in on Kagerou not being a Cybertronian yet. Also, he's kind of a Phase Sixer and he's had roundabout four million years of war to properly hammer into him that the only REAL people were Cybertronians.
Not that being people really stopped him from killing Autobots, but it wasn't a mindset that was really supposed to make sense; it just made his job easier.

He's hovering just behind the big bot's head, his head snaking back and forth on the long neck. Honestly, he looks terrified at the prospect of seeing anything human. Maybe the bigger one can keep him out of their reach. After all, he's so much larger than any of the BP units.
Maybe they won't want to approach.

"I did smell some, but they're not what I was talking about." Setting his paw next to the blocky footprint of a mech, he turns to Kagerou.
"Look. People. Cybertronians?"
no subject
"Like you?" he asks, looking up.
no subject
Sixshot works it out pretty quickly. In hindsight it made sense. There were certain details that didn't add up- like how he didn't smell energon on the kid at all.
In fact... Kagerou smelled like Earth. Gasoline. Strange, alien metals.
The Phase Sixer stares at his smaller companion for a long, looong moment, mentally chewing on the revelation, turning it over and over in his mind. Did this... change anything? Did this matter? Should he just crush this mech under his heel before he became a future nuisance?
He probably should have, but Sixshot couldn't find it in himself to particularly care.
"We should go find them," he rumbles, striding in the direction the footprints were headed in.
no subject
Is there an echo in here? There might as well be. Because... that just doesn't convey enough information. It doesn't tell him anything about this stranger. He stares up at Sixshot, uncomprehending and confused.
He stumbles backward a few steps as the big canine starts moving. Then takes to the air, hovering close.
"Why? Why is that important?"
no subject
That wasn't the question and Sixshot knows it. He didn't know the answer anyways. His opinion on things had never mattered before and now that it did, he found that he had none.
None beyond the sudden, suffocating urge to get away from Kagerou before... something happened. His strides get longer and longer and the Sixer finds himself trotting through the streets in short order.
no subject
I don't want that--
He wants something familiar. Something he can pretend makes him safer, more secure. The shape of the huge robot alone does that. He's never been alone before. Never been abandoned before.
I don't want to be here alone...
He lands, instead of hovering. Instead of following.
no subject
Sixshot slows to a halt a good distance away, watching Kagerou, silent and indecisive. The closest thing he's experienced to this was finding the occasional straggler Decepticon or Decepticon team from Phase Five or Four and directing them out of harm's way.
Because that's what Sixshot was in the end. Harm. Death. Destruction. Wherever he went, he brought worlds to their ends. Should command find him again, this world, too, could be seeing its apocalypse soon.
"... You need to be somewhere safe."
no subject
It comes out before he can stop it. The words torn out like thorns from a wound. He's standing on the ground, his arms folded around himself. He doesn't know how to explain it. Just that...
"He isn't here. You... you're like him. Sort of. It... feels safer."
Being with someone who looked even remotely familiar felt safer. By a long shot.
no subject
Sixshot takes a step closer. And then another, walking up to the lost, alien youngster until he was looming over Kagerou again. He rears up, the sound of transformation ringing out through the empty buildings.
The mech that replaced the dog was significantly smaller, a head shorter than Megatron, most of the mass shifted into subspace.
"I don't make people safe. You need to go."
no subject
But...
But he'd been hoping --
He kneels where he was standing, looking away. Where else is he supposed to go? What does he do? He can't ask it.
So he stays there. Not following.
no subject
Nothing for it then.
Bending down, he reaches out to grab Kagerou under his shoulders and makes to pick him up.
no subject
He jerks in surprise, struggling faintly, before staring up at the big robot in stunned silence.
no subject
There.
With a rather grumpy sounding ex-vent, Sixshot turns back to the task of finding someone to look out for the handful of trouble he'd managed to find for himself.
no subject
His legs just sort of dangle, and he clings onto the big hands holding him.
Well.
This got. Awkward.
no subject
He could smell Ratchet, the heavy duty sterilizers that clung to him with the warm, cloy under notes of energon. Optimus Prime, the oddly fading scent of a million battles. Bumblebee, although the Earthen overtones of his scent had changed drastically.
How strange.
In the end, he doesn't follow any of them. They come upon someone else earlier. He spots the glimpse of a red badge, the typical bright primary colors that Autobots often donned.
"That mech over there," he says to Kagerou, gently setting the flier down and pointing to the stranger. "Go to him. He will help. Or at least direct you to a place you can find some."
no subject
He's given a command.
For a few beats, he just looks up. Watching him. His wings sag. But... in the end...
He slinks into the foliage. Silently.
no subject
Turning, the Phase Sixer transforms and walks away-
