[ INTRO LOG ]

You don't know how you got here. One minute you were walking, sleeping, maybe dead -- then you're here, your feet suddenly carrying you down an empty street. Where's here?

Any Cybertronian would recognize this as their home planet, Cybertron, but it's not a Cybertron they've ever known. It has all the familiar hallmarks, but none of the specifics -- the city isn't one anyone here could identify, and even at a glance it's obvious that no one's set foot on the planet's surface in hundreds of years. The city and its surrounding areas all bear the marks of devastating war, of dust and rust collected over centuries. With no one in sight -- right at first, anyway -- there's plenty to explore. In fact, if you start walking, you'll find that your feet may just carry you in one particular direction.

A) The crater.
On one edge of the city is a massive crater left by some wartime weapon that seems to have taken out a large chunk of the surrounding metropolitan area. At the center of the crater it's broken through the surface of the terrain to reveal what looks like it might be a promising energon deposit. There is some strange but native vegetation growing around the edges, too, that no Cybertronian would be able to identify -- small, metallic, brittle-looking sprouts that bear a curiously organic-looking fruit of some kind that doesn't look like it's intended for consumption by any natives of the planet. In one rocky nook of the crater, light catches on the surface of a pool of water, which seems strangely out of place on Cybertron. On closer inspection, it seems that somehow an underground water source has formed a spring in the crater.

B) The center of the city.
If you follow where your feet seem to want to carry you, you'll find yourself in the middle of the ruined city. It seems that the center of the city was once home to a massive forum, and some of the pillars and structures still stand. At the very center of the forum is a massive, elaborately constructed fountain, although it has now long since run dry of whatever used to fill it. One of the low, inner walls of the forum has a terminal embedded in its surface, although it looks curiously ancient, out of place with the rest of the city, and unlike the rest of the technology still left around, there doesn't seem to be any way to power it on or operate it. There are a few scattered pools of water and a few of the strange metallic plants in the city, too, but they're not quite as plentiful as in the crater.

The planet was obviously once home to a massive network of communication relays, but those have all been long since destroyed. However, with the bits and pieces left behind and a few determined minds, it wouldn't be too hard to build a working, if rudimentary, one...

"Oddly enough I expected better from you than from Tarn when it comes to pointlessly escalating violence," Megatron responds. "I'll take care to adjust my expectations next time."

That actually gets Rodimus to flinch, compounded upon everything else Megatron had been heaping onto him. Fine. Just fine. It occurs to him that maybe he has made a mistake somewhere along the line, but he's not going to give Megatron the satisfaction of knowing that.

So instead he just glowers. "Fine. I'm going to find a medic. You do whatever it is you're doing. Standing around letting other Autobots get their arms torn off probably."

It's a petty, ineffectual comment but at this point Rodimus doesn't care.

"He'd have done worse than tear your arm off if I hadn't intervened and you know it," snaps Megatron. "I'm beginning to regret going to the trouble."

"Yeah? Maybe next time you should." Now he's just being childish and obnoxious. This is the point where he would attempt to cross his arms if he wasn't holding them. "And then everyone would know you're a terrible Autobot for letting it happen."

"Or maybe next time he won't be as willing to spare me and we'll both die," Megatron growls. "What did you think was going to happen? Did you think you'd be able to defeat him? Did you think I could??"

"You're Megatron, of course he's not going to kill you. I mean, he probably writes love poetry to you in energon or something every night before he recharges."

So you know, that clearly means Tarn wouldn't rip Megatron's head off - autobrand or no.

Megatron jabs an angry finger at the badge on his chest. "As far as he's concerned, I've betrayed him," he snaps. "The initial shock might have bought me the opportunity to save your miserable plating – and it might have lasted longer if you hadn't made me shoot him – but I highly doubt it'll last until the next time we see him."

"I didn't make you shoot him!" Duh. He has absolutely made a mistake and does not know how to get out of this without admitting it to Megatron and he absolutely does not want to do that. So he's just going to gesture with his severed arm. Aimlessly. "Well then next time let's be ready for him."

God damn it.

"Let's be ready for him? Oh yes, that would be grand. See if you can get in some practice at holding your tongue and reeling in your pointless bravado and we'll be set." His hands, he's noticed, have clenched into fists. He forces himself to relax, venting out heavily, and covering his face with one hand.

"This is stupid," he says. "This is... you should find a medic."

"Only if you decide you're going to be less you next time." Rodimus, that's what saved your plating. Shut up. But then Megatron changes the subject, and Rodimus turns his attention to his arm and stump of an arm and all that energon and yeah. Yeah a medic wouldn't be a bad idea right now.

"Probably." He feels unsteady on his feet, and lets half of his arm drop onto the ground. Medic. Right. "I'm just going to," a gesture, over his shoulder. Or as much of one as he can.
