[ INTRO LOG ]
You don't know how you got here. One minute you were walking, sleeping, maybe dead -- then you're here, your feet suddenly carrying you down an empty street. Where's here?
Any Cybertronian would recognize this as their home planet, Cybertron, but it's not a Cybertron they've ever known. It has all the familiar hallmarks, but none of the specifics -- the city isn't one anyone here could identify, and even at a glance it's obvious that no one's set foot on the planet's surface in hundreds of years. The city and its surrounding areas all bear the marks of devastating war, of dust and rust collected over centuries. With no one in sight -- right at first, anyway -- there's plenty to explore. In fact, if you start walking, you'll find that your feet may just carry you in one particular direction.
A) The crater.
On one edge of the city is a massive crater left by some wartime weapon that seems to have taken out a large chunk of the surrounding metropolitan area. At the center of the crater it's broken through the surface of the terrain to reveal what looks like it might be a promising energon deposit. There is some strange but native vegetation growing around the edges, too, that no Cybertronian would be able to identify -- small, metallic, brittle-looking sprouts that bear a curiously organic-looking fruit of some kind that doesn't look like it's intended for consumption by any natives of the planet. In one rocky nook of the crater, light catches on the surface of a pool of water, which seems strangely out of place on Cybertron. On closer inspection, it seems that somehow an underground water source has formed a spring in the crater.
B) The center of the city.
If you follow where your feet seem to want to carry you, you'll find yourself in the middle of the ruined city. It seems that the center of the city was once home to a massive forum, and some of the pillars and structures still stand. At the very center of the forum is a massive, elaborately constructed fountain, although it has now long since run dry of whatever used to fill it. One of the low, inner walls of the forum has a terminal embedded in its surface, although it looks curiously ancient, out of place with the rest of the city, and unlike the rest of the technology still left around, there doesn't seem to be any way to power it on or operate it. There are a few scattered pools of water and a few of the strange metallic plants in the city, too, but they're not quite as plentiful as in the crater.
The planet was obviously once home to a massive network of communication relays, but those have all been long since destroyed. However, with the bits and pieces left behind and a few determined minds, it wouldn't be too hard to build a working, if rudimentary, one...

Cybertron.
When Optimus told Alpha Trion he needed to take some time to return to Cybertron for something important, this wasn't exactly the Cybertron he had in mind. For one, the planet he knew (and loved) was much more populated. Not by much, but...I guess anything's bigger than zero. Either the inevitable happened and Starscream went up and eradicated their species (let's be real, it's very likely), or this is not HIS Cybertron.
Anything was possible at this point.
Upon further inspection of the energon deposits and the..strange vegetation (it almost looked Earthlike, if Optimus didn't know any better). Interesting...it's not something he's ever identified on their planet. But the biology of Cybertron wasn't exactly his forte at the Institute of Higher Programming. Letting one of the 'leaves' run across his finger, he eventually stands up, trying to gain any higher ground possible to see just where (and maybe WHEN) he was.
And if there were any survivors.
b.) The City
Once the crash site (or so he assumes is one) was inspected as much as a Prime could, he wanders until he finds what looks like the remnents of a city. 'Ruins' would be a bit of a compliment for what they were, really. Whatever had lived there had long since ceased. A shame, really. He could have used the help.
"I suppose asking for directions is out of the question."
Haha, Prime humor. You're hilarious.
But that doesn't stop him from approaching, recognizing some of the technology but seeing some vast differences in it as well. One more thing to add to the list of interesting things that clouded the Prime's mind. This Cybertron, whatever it was...WHEREVER it was...
He's not sure he wants to know what happened to it.

Trust Rodimus to take the vague beginnings of a joke and run with them, making them unintelligible in the process. He's still-- miffed might not be the right word, but--
No, miffed is a good word. Rodimus is going to go with that one. He's still miffed about the entire Megatron thing. But Optimus Prime being there when he's supposed to be on Earth at least means it's probably not a Brainstorm thing, not in the least because he's still alive.
Rodimus pushes off of the wall he's leaning against, not yet falling in step with Optimus. "So: Cybertron but it isn't, and no way of knowing how you got here? Me too."
no subject
But what Rodimus says has him thinking, giving another quick scan, a nod soon after.
"It's good to see you, Rodimus. Although I wouldn't mind under better circumstances."
...
"You'd be right on the situation. But I am curious as to why we are here. Or what exactly this is."
Walk with him, Roddy, he needs the company.
no subject
He's okay with that. He hangs back for a second or so before taking up a position next to Optimus, hanging back ever so slightly. Rodimus is miffed, okay, he's kind of annoyed beyond reason about someone taking his ship from him and giving it to an ex-warlord because he desperately wants to believe Megatron's reformed.
"Cybertron. Actually, now that I think about it - it's probably Brainstorm's fault. And not like, how things are normally his fault."
Optimus will probably want a status update at some point, but Rodimus feels like he might take it better than Megatron. Maybe.
no subject
"Brainstorm."
There's a slight upnote in the way he says that, as if the answer came literally out of thin air.
"Care to elaborate on that?"

A
Sort of.
"Reportin' for duty," the tank says, offering a hasty solute. Then, his optics blink as he seems to notice something a little bit off. "Youuu...look different. Pow. Is that a new paintjob?"
no subject
It certainly wouldn't surprise him. There were a lot of Autobots. Not that it made him feel any better about not knowing every member of his army.
"Ah...at ease, soldier." A hand reaches up, as if to wave off the attempt at following protocol. "I'm sorry, but I don't believe we've met."
Regrettably. It's not something he's proud of.
no subject
Warpath puts a hand on his chin with a puzzled sort of expression in his optics.
"You don't say! Kerbang, I can't say I was expecting this." He hesitates for a few more moments, then tentatively seems to proceed despite the obvious quandaries of this situation. "Autobot Warpath, at your service! And blooie, I've been out on the field and we are up to our main artillery in Megatron."
no subject
much like Warpath himself, he notices some differences between the one he knows and the one in front of him.
"You are a member of Hound's Tactical Response Unit?"
Please, let there be some familiarity.

B
He isn't exactly nearby when he hears it. But with the quiet, it's easy enough to hear. Besides, he would have to be deaf not to recognize it. Even from a distance. Even from this distance. His whole body jerks like a string has been pulled, and the big bot turns on a heel.
He knows that voice.
He knows that voice.
His steps are quickening, even while it feels like his spark is going to pulse right out of his chest.
"Optimus!" A few more pounding, desperate steps because the dream, the memory of all that isolation is driving him on. "Prime!"
Don't let this be another dream--
no subject
Ear pieces twitching slightly more, he picks up something else.
"Prime!"
And that, that was clear enough to get his head to turn, seeing Ironhide running towards him. Blue optics light up, relieved to see not only a familiar face, but one of his most trustworthy friends.
"Ironhide."
Optimus's usual calm tone had some warmth to it, turning fully to face him as he approaches.
no subject
"Prime!" Maybe if he says Optimus' name enough he'll stay this time. "What're you -- you're here! Primus, I can't--"
His words get tangled, and he comes up short, ventilation systems working hard and big hands hovering. Unsure of where to go.
"It's you, right? Really you?"
no subject
Shocker.
"Ironhide."
His voice is as calm as always, placing a hand on the other's shoulder.
"It is good to see you as well. My trip to Earth had to be cut short for..reasons. I left Prowl in charge--" not his best idea, but we'll roll with it "--but what has become of Cybertron?"

CRATER
He actually spits out a mouthful of dirt wen he peels his face up and out of the impression he'd somehow made beside the crater. He's made one of his own, really. Whatever dumped him here hadn't exactly been gentle about it.
"Ow." Well, no sense in keeping it to himself.
Moving is a bit of an effort, but he levers himself up onto his elbows to peer around him, looking for anything familiar and seeing nothing. Great. Super helpful.
He's not looking in the direction Optimus is wandering. One of his big shoulders is in the way and --
And that's... a weird looking rock. He's never seen one like it before. Of course, it isn't actually a rock, but the poor guy's never seen a leaf before.
no subject
But he heard it, and his head turns sharply to the side, seeing...
Yes. That was...
Sorry. You'll have to excuse him a moment. He's just staring at Roller with eyes as wide as Cybertron's moons, flickering them a bit to make sure it wasn't a trick of the light. He hesitates a moment, unsure if he should say something.
He should. He really should.
"Roller?"
no subject
It... looks like his partner. Like Pax. But at the same time...
Maybe he got whacked on the head harder than he thought. He blinks a few times, dragging a muddied hand over his face.
"Yeah?" He slowly shoves himself into a sitting position. "It... Okay, don't take this the wrong way, but you really sound like someone I know. You look like him too. Kind of."
A beat.
"More than 'kind of'. I mean, that looks like his lucky faceplate and..." He trails off. "Pax?"

b. how does she understand him idk motherfucking miracles
"I guarantee you I'm way more lost than you are." Valeria, all three feet of her, rose from the spot where she hadn't been hiding, merely sitting and being small and hard to see from 30 feet up.
Humans. There goes the neighborhood.
The language of dad joke is universal ok
His gaze shifts, eventually settling on Valeria. And...
Well, okay, the questions are immediately popping up in his head one by one.
"A human."
Yes, thank you Optimus for stating the obvious. But he sounds astonished at it, especially since this one is lacking any protective gear and seems to be doing just fine in what could be a dangerous atmosphere.
no subject
"Oh, you're familiar with Earth? That simplifies matters. Can you call them so I can get a ride home? I can give you the right comms protocols." There, that should settle that, Uncle Doom could teleport out to get her, and she'd be home in time for ice cream.
Things the small human was not: frightened, upset, confused. Just somewhat put-upon by the vagaries of her life.

B) because Orion Pax is a goddamn city boy
His audials immediately shift forward and back again, like he's trying to tune into a version of the universe that still makes any sense. Then he loses his grip on the pillar and awkwardly slides down the side, like a cat losing its grip on a tree.
no subject
Noticing...a few TOO many similarities. More than Pyro could have ever hoped to achieve.
"Uh."
A phrase truly worthy of a Prime, as you can see.
"Do you need some assistance?"
Also why do you look like him.

"Are you Orion Pax?" he asks, fairly urgently.

So, of course, when he sees Optimus motherfucking Prime, Pipes assumes its a hallucination. Only one way to find out! He scampers over, like the adorable little shit he is.
"Op-- Optimus! Sir! It's so good to see you here!"
Despite he's never seen Optimus in his life. Is that even how you talk to a Prime? Fuck if he knows.
He really hopes that's actually Optimus.
no subject
Pipes, thankfully was an easier one to remember. The pipes on him helped substantially. He turns, looking down as the minibot approaches.
"...Pipes..."
Hopefully. But if that was true....
His eyes widen. Pipes was...reported dead by Ultra Magnus, wasn't he? Don't mind if he stares at you like you grew a second head.
"It's good to see you as well, to be sure."
You have no idea, Pipes.
no subject
At being noticed, he immediately snaps off a salute, "You too, sir!"
Like at least you didn't get teleported inside a rock or whatever.
"What's the... situ...ation...?"
