Cybertron was abandoned and empty for centuries before the arrival of its new inhabitants, and though they are few, slowly but surely they're making changes to the unfamiliar city. Thanks to the efforts of Valeria, Brainstorm, Nautica and Perceptor, the city now has a local network communications system. The network is equipped for text, audio, and video posts, and can be accessed via scattered public terminals around the city, any built-in comms systems the characters might have (audio only), as well as handheld devices built to work with the network, which are currently limited in quantity and are being distributed by Team Internet at their discretion. However, Valeria is also offering modifications to existing communications devices such as cell phones carried by humans and other small organics. Posts to the network can be tagged with #network.

Almost as soon as the network is set up, it's host to some strange activity being generated by something other than the new arrivals -- a series of posts featuring short videos, mostly with no audio, nothing more than a series of mostly disconnected images, all of which seem to relate to this Cybertron and its fate -- both past and future. Flashing images of the Cybertronian night sky and all its constellations as viewed from several different points on the planet; in-orbit views of the planet from different, disjointed times, some with both moons visible and some without; a flicker of the rush of spacecraft in what appears to be a mass exodus; time-lapse footage of different parts of the planet, the rise and expansion to the fall and destruction of war, the erosion of war. Some may recognize one of these as the city they've been pulled to -- now it's a rusted, broken down ruin, but once it was a beautiful, brilliant city, almost artful in its architecture. Now it lies wasted, destroyed. And though there seemed to be no way to make the terminal in the forum operable, it's turned on by itself, displaying these same images on an endless loop, on and off throughout the day. Cybertron seems to be trying to communicate with its new inhabitants...but it may also resort to more direct methods.

The network activity isn't the only change around here, though. Although the planet seemed to be previously deserted of all animate life, with only the merciless wilderness beyond the reaches of the city, there is now evidence of wildlife out there that may occasionally venture into the city. There isn't much -- only small creatures have been spotted, such as the glitchmouse and the nitrodeer, which looks suspiciously like it was designed by a Swedish interior decorator. They transform into stackable ergonomic cubes. There has also been an increase in the strange technorganic flora that's been providing sustenance to the local organic population -- more and more plants are sprouting from the cracks in the city and beyond, and there even seems to be some new variation in the fruits they bear. Try them out, maybe they'll taste a little different or...taste like anything at all.
